The fragile mountain environment is highly vulnerable to climate change, threatening the lives and livelihoods of the poor, disadvantaged, and marginalized communities. The Sherpas of Khunde village is very concerned about the flood from Khumbila, the protector god of Khumbu.

The Partners Nepal was able to restore and protect the affected area from flood came from mountains disturbing the natural beauty by planting native trees to stabilize the soils. This project supported by Engage Nepal, NepalHilfe Tirol (Austria), The Partners Nepal, and Aero Telegraph.

The Partners Nepal and Tashidelek Buffer Zone Users Group (Khumjung-4) jointly implemented this project. Approximately 1100 seedlings of four different species, such as Juniper, fir, rhododendron, and birch species, were used.
