The fourth phase of ONE DAY ONE TREE project will be planted in Khunde village in 2019. With financial support from Soarway Foundation-Engage Nepal and NepalHilfe Tirol (Austria), The Partners Nepal has made agreement with Tashidelek Buffer Zone Users Group (Khumjung-4), The Partners Nepal was able to fulfill the desires of Khunde community for protection and restoration of the area that has been affected by flood came from the mountains that not only disturbed the natural beauty but also to stop the annual flooding by planting native trees that would stabilize the soil by planting native trees.

The fragile mountain environment is highly vulnerable to climate change, which in turn threaten the lives and livelihoods of the poor, disadvantaged and marginalized communities in the mountains. The Sherpas of Khunde village are very much concern of the flood from Khumbila the protector god of Khumbu. On June 5th 2019, The Partners Nepal and Tashidelek Buffer Zone Users Group jointly launched this reforestation project. The real reforestation project will begin from July when the monsoon begins. There would be approximately 600 seedlings of three different species such as: Juniper, fir and birch species all seeds produced in Pangboche where TPN’s ONE DAY ONE TREE nursery is established.
