SUSHILA THINNG has 15 years of professional experience in International non-governmental organizations (INGOs), NGOs, working on gender and social inclusion (GESI) and has experience on disaster risk reduction (DRR), climate change adaptation (CCA) and mitigation, strengthen the capacity of local communities and organizations on GESI. Sushila has long work experience in the sustainable use, management, and cultivation of forest resources, particularly non-timber forest products (NTFPs), improve the local community’s livelihoods, experience to establish a good partnership, collaboration, and coordination with government agencies and NGOs.
She was the former gender and conservation officer mainly responsible for managing The Mountain Institute’s Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (MAPs) and also has great experience in establishing the highest alpine nursery establishment in Sagarmatha National Park and Buffer Zone in Mt. Everest region of Solukhumbu. She has also experience in a community-based conservation approach in different fields during her career development. She holds a Master’s Degree in Sociology and her thesis entitled “climate change and adaptive strategies of Tamang community.” Being a member of The Partners Nepal, she has always been a strong advocate and has been volunteering as required. She is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure TPN achieves its mission and goals.
