SUSHILA THINNG has 15 years of professional experience in International non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and NGOs, working on gender and social inclusion (GESI) and has experience in disaster risk reduction (DRR), climate change adaptation (CCA) and mitigation, strengthening the capacity of local communities and organizations on GESI. Sushila has long work experience in the sustainable use, management, and cultivation of forest resources, particularly non-timber forest products (NTFPs), improving the local community’s livelihoods, and experience establishing good partnerships, collaboration, and coordination with government agencies and NGOs.

She was the former gender and conservation officer mainly responsible for managing The Mountain Institute’s Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (MAPs) and also had great experience in establishing the highest alpine nursery establishment in Sagarmatha National Park and Buffer Zone in Mt. Everest region of Solukhumbu. During her career development, She also has experience in a community-based conservation approach in different fields. She holds a Master’s Degree in Sociology, and her thesis is “Climate Change and Adaptive Strategies of Tamang Community.” Being a member of The Partners Nepal, she has always been a strong advocate and volunteered as required. She won one year of the Fullbright program in the US and is now living in the US since 2022.
