Serve The Mountain Communities
With generous support from Peter Nichols, The Partners Nepal strengthened the Allo Club Production Center through three key interventions: constructing a 25-meter gabion wall to protect against monsoon flooding and riverbank erosion, replacing the 30-year-old roof with durable corrugated sheets, and upgrading toilet and bathroom facilities to enhance hygiene, safety, and gender inclusion.
These improvements safeguard livelihoods based on locally grown allo (stinging nettle), protect critical infrastructure along the Sisuwa Khola, and improve working conditions—directly enhancing community resilience against earthquake damage and climate-related risks.
With generous support from Peter Nichols, The Partners Nepal strengthened the Allo Club Production Center by protecting the riverbank, replacing the roof, and upgrading sanitation facilities. These improvements safeguard the center from flood risks, enhance hygiene and safety for women producers, and protect climate-vulnerable infrastructure—restoring livelihoods based on local allo fiber and building long-term resilience for communities affected by floods and earthquakes.
Before: Women working at the Allo Club Production Center faced flood risk, a rusted roof, and poor sanitation—limiting safe production and income, especially during the monsoon.
After: With support from Peter Nichols and The Partners Nepal, riverbank protection, a new roof, and upgraded facilities now provide a safer workspace—helping women sustain allo-based livelihoods year-round with dignity, stability, and resilience.
