Global Warming and its Effect in the Himalayas (CLIMATE CHANGE HANDBOOK)

Serve The Mountain Communities

The Partners Nepal, with support from Peak Aid Japan, published 1,000 copies of Global Warming and Its Effects in the Himalayas: Climate Change Handbook to raise awareness among secondary and higher secondary students about climate change, with a focus on its impacts on Solukhumbu and Indigenous communities. The handbook, distributed in districts including Solukhumbu, Sankhuwasabha, and Langtang, educates both students and parents on these critical environmental issues.

Additionally, with funding from Nepal Hilfe-Tirol, The Partners Nepal (TPN) published 500 copies of the second edition of Melting Heights: Climate Change and Global Warming’s Impact on Nepal’s Himalayas – A Case Study from Langtang National Park and Buffer Zone. Targeted at high school students, this edition examines the effects of climate change on Rasuwa’s mountain ecosystems and communities and is dedicated to the resilient people of Langtang, who faced devastating losses during the 2015 earthquake. TPN extends sincere gratitude to Peak Aid Japan and Nepal Hilfe-Tirol for making these publications possible.
