Secretary

BHEEM RAJ RAI has been the secretary of The Partners Nepal in the executive committee since the inception of the 2012 establishment. Mr. Rai worked at The Mountain Institute as a Conservation and Livelihood Program Officer before joining The Partners Nepal. Mr. Rai is a forest Ranger with a graduate degree in Health Education and a Master’s Degree in Rural Development (RD) from Tribhuvan University. Mr. Rai’s work included Conservation of protected areas, Community Forest Users Group, Community-based ecotourism, alpine ecosystems in Sagarmatha and Makalu-Barun National Park, community forest management training to Partners Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs)/Government organizations (GOs), and line agencies and has experience in Community-based project planning and livelihood program in far west Nepal with UN World Food Programme (WFP), humanitarian projects. Mr. Rai has over 23 years of experience in appreciative participatory planning and Action of Natural Resource Management, program implementation on Climate Change Adaptation, and Community Development. Mr. Rai has been instrumental in designing and implementing ONE DAY ONE TREE projects in Solukhumbu and Langtang Valley in Rasuwa district. Mr. Rai has helped translate Climate Change in the Himalayas: A Case from Solukhumbu into Nepali and also helped to publish a book on Global Warming and its effects in the Himalayas—a handbook for children.
