OUR TEAM AND APPROACH
The Partners Nepal team has been helping mountain communities in Nepal for a long time. The team members of TPN used to work for The Mountain Institute. In 2012, they started The Partners Nepal and got it registered. Since then, those who love and care about mountain communities have been moved by The Partners Nepal.
The other way TPN works is through many local partner organizations. Using local partner organizations has many long-term benefits, such as lowering costs, increasing impacts, making programs last longer, and giving people in the area the skills they need to run conservation programs after projects are done. The Partners Nepal was happy to add three international advisors and six general members to its board.
Brian J. Peniston, who used to be the director of The Mountain Institute, and Peter Nichols, who has always supported TPN from the United States, Dr. LEANNE ALONSO, the conservation director, are the three international advisors. The six general members are Shree Dhoj Rai (Sotang), Ang Temba Sherpa (Khunde), Sushila Thinng (Sarlahi), Phurba Sherpa (Goli), Min Bahadur Rai (Phuleli) and Sovit Kulung (Chheskam).
