THE PARTNERS NEPAL SUPPORTED COVID-19 SUPPLIES TO THE MOUNTAIN COMMUNITIES IN 2020-2021
The Partners Nepal (TPN) and our partners have extensively worked to provide COVID-19 pandemic support for the vulnerable mountain communities of Nepal from August 2020 to August 2021. The support of COVID-19 was made possible with funding support from NepalHilfe-Tirol as a major supporter, followed by Core International and Light Education Development (Led) of UK and The Partners Nepal.
The Partners Nepal had distributed the necessary supplies of COVID-19 for vulnerable communities of mountain communities from Solukhumbu district, Langtang valley of Rasuwa district, and the disadvantaged communities from Chaurideurali of Kavre District. The supplies were well identified and based on need assessment such as medical and food supplies to avoid further spreading the COVID-19 and overcome not having essential medical supplies as well as to prevent hunger and starvation, improve hygiene, strengthening community solidarity and the local economy during those pandemic periods due to constant lockdown in the country. The priority was given to the community those lacking backup support from families and the Government.
While distributing those supplies, we have worked with local partners to distribute the supplies by following the Government’s instructions. In Langtang valley of Rasuwa district, we have partnered with Tenjin Eco-Treks, in Solukhumbu, our TPN member, and in the Kavre district, the Chaurideurali RM-7 of Kavrepalanchowk had played a crucial role in distributions of the supplies. Those supplies were well listed based on the requirement of the health ministry and also the local clinics. The supplies include food supplies, medical supplies such as 1. Oxygen Concentrators, 2. Oxygen Gas Regulators, 3. Mask; 4. Gloves, 5. Surgical Mask; 6. Sanitizer; 7. Surgical Gloves; 8 Oximeters, 9. Thermometers; 11. Hand washes Dettol Soap; 12. Face shields; 13. PPP dress; and 14. Vitamin C and D, etc.
The Partners Nepal greatly appreciate NepalHilfe-Tirol for your invaluable support of COVID-19 from 2020-2021 and the Core International and Light Education Development (LED) in July 2021. Your invaluable financial support towards TPN’s COVID-19 program from 2020-2021 was very important, especially during the most difficult time. Without your interest, concern, and kindness, The Partners Nepal couldn’t provide that much assistance to the vulnerable mountain communities here in Nepal.
