Over 7000 Native Trees Planted in Khunde
With funding from One Tree Planted, The Partners Nepal planted over 7000 native trees” ONE DAY ONE TREE” program in Khunde 3870m. The plantations were carried out by both men and women from Khunde village in early July 2023. They have planted four native trees, including fir, rhododendron, juniper, and birch species. The seedlings were purchased from Thame and Phurte Nursery.
Mr. Phurba Gyalzen Sherpa did the overall supervision from Khunde. The Partners Nepal is very grateful to Mr. Phura Gyalzen Sherpa for organizing the tree planting program in Khunde. The sites were selected where the vegetation severely denuded or destroyed the areas due to open grazing and fuel wood use.
The Partners Nepal is also very grateful to One Tree Planted and those interested in supporting our reforestation projects in Sagarmatha National Park and Buffer Zone in Solukhumbu District.
